Spring Meadow Lake State Park is located on the western edge of Helena. It is an urban day-use park and is a popular spot for family afternoons of swimming, sunbathing, fishing, birdwatching, and having fun. The park features new picnic shelters and a reserveable group use Pavilion. In addition to the water and beach area, the park offers an .8 mile, nature trail that circles the lake. There is no lifeguard on duty at Spring Meadow State Park. The park is home to a variety of birds, turtles and other wildlife and trout, bass and sunfish have been introduced into its waters. There is a fishing platform that is ADA accessible. In winter, you can stroll along the trail and if it's cold enough, ice-skate on the lake. Special events are held periodically during the year. Pets are only permitted in the park from October 16- April 14 and must always be on a leash. Vault toilets are available year round and a flush toilet facility is open to the public May 1- October 1. |
